Hair loss is one of the major causes of worry for people all across the globe. There are a number of reasons that may lead to hair loss. At least a third of world’s population suffers from issues of hair loss, and a large part of them are women. Take good care of your locks

Although there are no definite ways in which you can stop hair loss that’s genetically influenced or are caused by factors that are out of your control, you still can take good care of your hair in order to minimize hair loss tendencies. Avoid subjecting your hair frequently to constant heating or drying procedures. Constant heating weakens the hair proteins, even though the ads promise of softness and shine. The hair may even become brittle and fragile due to such treatments, and in the long run you will incite hair loss even without knowing it. So reduce the usage of hot curlers, hair dryers, hot brushes, hair fasteners, hair straighteners and chemical treatments to make sure that your hair lasts longer. Remember, drying your hair naturally is always the best thing to do.

Reduce the usage of hair dyes

Reduce the frequency of using hair dyes. Do not color your locks more often than six to eight weeks and go for semi-coverage instead of full dyeing. If you are worried about your hair turning gray, remember that it is much better to allow them to turn gray instead of going for dyeing. Although you will find plenty of well-meaning ads telling you to stop looking older than you really are, it is still always better to have naturally gray hair than artificially treated “young” hair.

Be careful while styling your hair

There are certain hair styles that might require the usage of clips and elastics that pull your hair tightly. While such hairstyles may make you look good, they can be a major cause of hair loss if done on a regular basis. Some of these hairstyles include tight ponytails, tight braids, plaits and corn-rows. Winding your hair tightly onto heated rollers can also cause you more hair loss.

Avoid brushing your wet hair

Let your hair dry a little before you brush your hair; otherwise it can remove a lot of your growing hair from their roots. If you still have to comb your wet hair, do it with a wide-toothed comb. Avoid brushing too often as it may lead to increased loss of hair.
