Hair Treatments for Different Types of Hair

Having damaged hair can be truly painful for a woman, as not only it reduces her beauty quotient but also has a great impact on her confidence. That is why it is important to make use of good hair treatments that can bring back the lost shine and glory. Take a look at some of the most effective homemade hair treatments that are practiced widely.

Treatment for all hair types

Raw eggs are some of the best natural sources of proteins, and as such, they serve as excellent remedies for damaged hair. They are also rich in fats and act as a natural moisturizer. The egg whites include bacteria-eating enzymes which help in removing unwanted oils.

If you have normal hair, you can use the entire egg as a conditioner. On the other hand, if your hair is oily, use the egg whites for treating them. Women who have dry, brittle hair can make use only of the egg yolks as a moisturizing agent. After treating your hair with egg parts, leave it for 20 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water and clean everything off with shampoo. The yolk-only and whole egg treatment can be done once in a month; you can repeat the whites-only treatment every 2 weeks.

Hair Treatments

Treatment for dull hair

Air pollution or different types of styling products can leave a faint residue that both drains moisture away and dulls the shine. However, you can use plain yogurt and sour cream as natural hair treatments to reverse the damage.

Massage half cup of plain yogurt or sour cream into your damp hair and keep it for 20 minutes. After that rinse it off with warm water and then again with cool water; follow it with shampooing. You can repeat the treatment every other week.

Treatment of dry hairs

Treatment for fine or limp hair

If your hair needs shine and bounce, you can use beer to achieve that effect. Beer contains plenty of yeast that can rejuvenate your weary locks. Make a mixture of half cup of flat beer, a raw egg and one tablespoon of light oil (canola or sunflower). Apply the mixture to damp, clean hair and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water. You can also put flat beer on your hair with a spray bottle. The protein deposits from wheat, hops or malt will help in structuring the hair. The treatments can be repeated every other week.

Treatment for itchy scalp

Itchy scalp and flakes are a result of stress, poor diet, climatic factors and personal habits. Put a mixture of olive oil and lemon juice in your hair. Lemon juice is a rich source of acids which can remove all loose or dry skin flakes. Olive oil helps to bring back the lost suppleness by moisturizing the exposed skin.

Make a mixture of two tablespoons of olive oil, two tablespoons of lemon juice and two tablespoons of water, and then apply it in your damp scalp. Keep it for 20 minutes and then rinse off with water and shampoo. You can repeat it every other week.
